Adult Gap Year

The concept of an adult gap year is really a misnomer. Yes, traditionally a gap year was the preserve of the school leaver or university student taking a break between their studies an joining the work force, but not any more.


Being a "gap year" company, we know that school leavers represent less that 35% of the people that enquire about our programmes. this tells us that either our programmes are too Extreme for the younger groups (unlikely) or that most people these days are considering an adult gap year.

We say, why not! adult gap year travel has always been there, the terminology was just different.

What is an adult gap year


An adult gap year represents time out between any life stage, and does not have to last a year, the concept is exactly the same as a career break, although, not all adults have a career either. Recently the sunday times followed a mum, who wanted a break from it all, and she went on her own adult gap year consisting of a round the world trip. She took a bus from London to Sydney.  Not all adult gap years have to be "a year", many are just a couple of months, even a few weeks, just enough to get you out of your comfort zone, and give you time and space to work out your next step in life.
