What Style of backpacker are you?

There are different ways people like to go and travel when the go backpacking. Some people are very happy to head of and do it alone, with the I´ll just see where I end up approach, then other like to go backpacking with a group (like our Xtreme experience programmes), giving the security of being and sharing their experiences with other.

There is no best way - different styles are right for different people and a mix of both is often a great way to do it. Some of our backpacking programmes allow you to do this rather well, for instance the Round the World South America trip gives you the flexibility of independent travel in Peru after a 4 week guided trip around Ecuador, enabling ou to make some travel mates already and then head off on your own a bit (or with the people you have met) once your confidence levels are up a bit.

Some countries are loaded with backpackers and other are more flashpacker destinations.

What s the difference between a backpacker and a FlashPacker?

Flash packers are like backpackers, but with more money! A flash packer will stay in a hotel or guest house where as a backpacker will scrimp and save on accommodation in a hostal. The difference tends to be the time devoted to a country. Flashpackers might be in Thailand for a month, with more money and less time, so they can afford to spend more on flights for example to speed up travel times. Backpackers, have all the luxury of time but no money so they will spend 24 hours on a butt breaking bus journey if necessary.
