As well as cool sports activities, an Ecuador Gap Year opens up thre real die hard adventurer in you. With lots of indian temples, and ruins to see, you will feel like lara croft or Indiana Jones when you discover some of the ancient sites dotted allover the country. Then there are exciting market towns like Otavalo, offering amazing handicrafts from Lama fur jackets to pipes made from bottles and of course pan pipes galore, be sure to pack light before setting of on your Ecuador gap year.

You will most likely want to check out the Amazon rain forest during your Ecuador gap year. Despite the fact that much of the forest sits in Brazil, and other South America countries, Ecuador provides relatively easy access to the jungle, with some great trips to be had a short bus ride for Quito. You can easily work in a 2 or 3 day trip into your itinerary where you will be taken up the Amazon (make sure you have a paddle) by native Indian guides, and sleep in remote jungle camps and meet native Amazonian tribes, cut off from the world as we know it.


On your Ecuador gap year you will discover a country that has some impressive geography, with the mighty Andes, forming huge and steep mountain passes, not only that there are some serious volcanoes for aspiring climbers out there. With our mountain climbing school, you can summit Cotopaxi, Ecuadors second highest peak and one of the worlds largest free standing volcanoes. Then there are our Ecuador gap year expeditions, like the travelling class room, where you are able to learn spanish and see some of the most amazing places at the same time.
