The city has also produced talented football players such as Sibusiso Zuma, Siyabonga Nomvete and Delron Buckley.
Durban hosted group, quarter-final and semi-final games in the 1996 CAF Africa Cup of Nations. The city also hosted South Africa's game against England in 2003, which helped launch the country's bid for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. England won the encounter 2-1.

Cape town, where we will enjoy the buzz of the quarter and semi finals is still days away, From now on we drive along the sea which will naturally give us some spectacular views. But we will not sit still in the meantime. Today we arrive after a 250 KM drive in Port St Johns. The scenery of this part of the Eastern Cape Province is so typically African and jungley that the town is popular as a movie location, and it seems that there's always a production being filmed here. Port St. Johns is surrounded by thousands of hectares of indigenous jungle and miles of pristine beaches, and is home to two villages, First Beach and Second Beach, 5km apart along a winding jungle- and village-lined road, both of which have their own very definite characteristics.
Port St Johns also offers a unique blend of cultural richness. The Xhosa culture, both traditional and modern, is always apparent. You will see a sangoma (traditional healer) strolling along in all his finery, hear the thumping sound of modern kwaito music from a furniture store, and dodge the ever-present voracious mini-bus taxies. This vibrant noise and color is contrasted with some crumbling reminders of a colonial history. In the streets you will hear Xhosa, Afrikaans and English as well as foreign languages from the steady stream of tourists.

The bustling town is 600 KM from Cape town and bordered on both sides by nature reserves & rivers. Soak up the sunshine, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere & have a wonderful stay. If that sounds like hell, you will get the chance to have a few surfing lessons with our world champion surfers!
If you're a surfer, you've heard about the curls at Jeffreys Bay, or "J-Bay" as it's know to anyone who has taken even the slightest interest in the sport. Mention Jeffreys Bay, South Africa, and watch their eyes light up with excitement as they know J-Bay offers some of the most consistent waves on the planet.

The Cango Caves are situated in a lime stone belt measuring 1.5km in width and almost 16km in length and were originally inhabited by the Khoisan peoples thousands of years ago. It is a truly mystical place.
We dare you to go diving with crocodiles (The croc’s here are enormous and bloody scary. To get really close and personal, you can now go Croc Cage diving!) and to ride a ostrich. We can also admire cheetahs, lions and tigers.

In the evenings you are free to do your own thing or head out with the group to a variety of Cape Town’s nightlife hot spots like the waterfront and Long St. One thing is for sure this city knows how to throw a party and during the South Africa world cup finals it won’t disappoint.

Karoo has great sunsets and we will enjoy one in the middle of it!

Day 28, 08-Jul, Karoo NP > Kimberley
Accommodation: Camp

Kimberley is the capital of the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. Amongst other things, it is famous for its own extreme gap, the world's largest hand-dug excavation that was created when thousands of people searched for diamonds at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries.
