From the Emerald City, Seattle, travel a short distance to the jewel of the Cascade Mountains, Mt. Rainier National Park. An afternoon hike will be on offer considering there are over 300 miles available on the parks' network of trails. Of course just relaxing at the scenic campground or visiting the information centres is also an option. The next day we follow one of America's most scenic and wild rivers, the Snake, into the Big Sky cowboy country of Montana.

Days: 3-4 Glacier National Park

North into the true wilderness of Glacier National Park. Grizzly bear, moose, elk, mountain goats, marmots and a host of birds and small animals call Glacier home. Hike in one of the most beautiful and natural settings for an incredible introduction to the Rocky Mountains.

Days: 5-7 Ranch Stay & Yellowstone National Park

Spend a night at a real Western Ranch under a brilliant blanket of stars in the American Rockies, before reaching Yellowstone National Park for a glorious two-night stay. Large herds of bison and elk roam the park and bears and wolves are also present.

We then have two days in the heart of the Colorado Rockies wilderness at the spectacular Rocky Mountain National Park. Continue the adventure by rafting the raging waters of the Snake or Arkansas Rivers before travelling along America's spectacular mountain roads to old gold rush towns such as Ouray or Telluride.

Take a breath as we head to the Navajo Tribal Lands of Monument Valley. Days: 16-17 Grand Canyon National Park

For a different perspective, the experience is heightened with the spectacular views of Grand Canyon National Park. You have a full day to experience the grandeur of Earth's natural wonder.
