Botswana achieved independence from Britain in 1996 and discovered three of the world's richest diamond mines straight after that! That is a true African success story. And line a good incredible story it takes time to unravel the country. Beyond the narrow eastern corridor, where the majority of the population is concentrated, Botswana exists of road less wilderness, savannas, desserts, wetlands and salt pans. Freedom of speech and equality are guaranteed under the new Government. The best time to visit for wildlife viewing is the dry season, from April to August.
