Itinerary
When you arrive in Sydney you can book your self into the Wake Up (or we can do it for you). This is super simple to reach a door to door bus goes from the airport. Early on Monday morning you will head out from the Wake Up heading north and begin this epic adventure. This will take you from Sydney to Byron Bay stopping off at some secret surf locations and seeing some of the nicest beaches on the east coast. The surf trip is usually full of beginners so you can cut your teeth on the board with other learners to begin with, or if you have more experience, head out with the surf coaches to attac some serious waves.
Expect some great surf, amazing food and a good laugh with a new group of people all up for the adventure.
Tip: If you want a few days in Sydney before you start, check out our Wake Up Pack, 4 days of fun in Sydney and perfect to bolt onto this trip.
First Stop Crecent Head
In Summary:
Relaxing, great surfing, amazing food and really really friendly staff. A great environment where socialising is encouraged and you will leave here with new friends, a serious Aussie tan and some pretty slick surf skills!
Head north from Sydney and you will find some amazing beaches stretching all the way up to Queensland. Somewhere along the way right by delicate Nobby (yes that is the correct name) there is an amazing strip of Golden sand surrounded by a protected national park. The beach stretching on for miles is usually deserted, apart from the odd kangaroo and the footsteps of happy surfers. The surf shack is located right in the middle of the beach, 2 minutes up a sandy track to some of the best surf in new south wales. Lots of different waves surging spilling and dumping providing the perfect back drop for beginners and pros a like.
During the first session of the morning, it is not uncommon to have a pod of dolphins jumping out of the surf and playing around you. Yep this place is surfers paradise.
Battling the monster waves leaves you pretty exhausted after a 2 hour session, so waiting for you back at camp is some home comforts, chill out areas and unbelievable food. Great Ozzie bbqs before banter round the camp fire swapping stories of the days surf, wipe outs and progress. Going from being able to stand up on your board to riding wave to performing cut backs and extreme jumps!
When the party dies down at night, you can rest your now aching muscles in comfortable dorms ready to wake up to an awesome breakfast and another day of hitting the surf under the watchful eye of top surf pros.
Just a few rules governs this place though, so be warned.

The camp runs from October to May if booking outside of these months you head straight to Spot X
Onto Spot X
In Summary: right on the beach with the prime spot in a popular surfers hang out. More of a party atmosphere than at Crescent head, and a great place to hook up with lots of travellers all trying out some surfing. For the extra brave you can also do a sky dive from this location.
Your Second stop on the trip (when coming from Sydney – first stop if travelling North to South) will be in the legendary spot X surf camp. This is just North of Coffs harbour, and located on a huge sandy beach, set right at the door of the camp. There is a great vibe at the camp as quite a few surf trips stop here – Oz experience and contiki tours to name a few. This is unlike Crescent head, is not exclusive to us, but we do occupy the best spot, with a cool club house, bar, chill out zone and all the surf equipment you could need located right on the beach. There is an internet cafe to show your mates of facebook the awesome (or serious wipe outs) of the day and the team are on hand to not only get you out in to the waves, but keep you entertained with some serious partying!
