Frequently Asked Questions
I am a little apprehensive about travelling alone. Can you reassure me?
It is perfectly understandable to be apprehensive about travelling alone, but you will find on this trip you make loads of friends very quickly.
You start off at the wake up hostel which is probably the best place to be to meet other backpackers, slap bang in the middle of the backpacker district. There are loads of free arranged social events and many people are in the same boat. So you will be sure to meet people very quickly.
The programme has 4 days in Sydney and it is designed to take into account Jet lag, so you should be fine, adapting you can start earlier if you wish, probably not necessary. After the 4 days in Sydney you are then on the surf trip, this can have up to 40 people on it and it is mainly single people up for having a good laugh, the surf guides will help break the ice on the bus, by the end of it you will have a good base of mates.
As you get in the swing of travel, you will find it pretty easy to get to know people, you will also find that having that little bit of freedom to make your own travel plans pretty good too, but all along they way you will be joining other groups so really there is no need to worry!
I have never surfed before
Neither has 99% of people in this trip, so no worries. You will be taught by professional instructors, and no doubt you will have a great laugh in the process.
I want to work in Australia can you help with this?
Sure! you can do the Work Up Programme (for an Extra €220 - but it includes quite a bit more and an extra 3 nights as well). This means you need to arrive on the Sunday.
