It is there is a restaurant there, you are also close to lots of bars, restaurants and shops too. Sometimes you will go out other times you can make your own dinner at the hostel
Are facilities available to wash my clothes (and training gear)?
Yes there are.

Yes lots, this will also be provided for you in a predeparture pack and explained to you by our rep isabell in Rio.
What are approximately the food and drink prices in Rio?
Prices really do vary from really cheap €2 for a street food meal to €30) This is a good site for comparison
How much money do I need per week?
Depends on your lifestyle and how much you like to party. There is plenty to do in rio on a budget, but if you go out to bars all the time you will burn through your cash faster. Be sure to take a trip to the maracana stadium though and watch a game, it is the biggest football stadium in the world and the brazilian fans go nuts!
How would a normal weekday and day in the weekend look like?
Week days would consist of training with the VB project in the cantagalo, your exact timetable will be structure when you are there, weekends you are free to explore and check out Rio and the surrounding areas. Make sure you head to Buzious at least once, it is really cool there.
Everything will be in walking distance fo you, so after your training you may want to head down to the beach, or check out what is happening in the neighbourhood.
Ipanema beach is extremely diverse and entertaining: you can surf, play soccer, fresco ball, volleyball, buy a bikini, drink coconut water, cycle or run along the board walk. At weekends the beach gets filled by carioca (Rio Dwellers) who literary spend the whole day chatting and sunbathing: a flamboyant gay community stands in front of posto 8, a stream of perfectly carved bodies decorates posto 9, soap operas celebrities hide in the quieter dunes of Leblon beach and surfers battle with the strong currents of Arpoardor. It is not unusual to see a pack of dolphins heading south or body surfers sharing the same wave with some penguins on a break from the chilly water of the South Pole.
Lots of day trips can be arranged for you and there are always parties going on in the neighborhood. Most Xtreme Gappers find it very easy to integrate as we have our rep looking after you and she is well connected in the community.
Will there others taking the same trip in this period?
Possibly, but not definitely. If you are the only person on the programme fear not, you will meet lots of people in your training sessions, and we have a good support network in Rio. There will be lots of people at the hostel, and our rep will be close by as well is you have any problems- also you will make lots of Brazilan friends too no doubt – Brazilians are very friendly. Remember also that Rio de Janeiro is one of the most sociable cities in South America, making friends will not be hard.
Are there fixed starting dates for the course or can I start any day?
No you can start when you like.
