There is a list up on the notice board. Please look and write down you name for any activities you wish to do. We do not make any money on activities; the price is the actual price. How easy can I get Cash out?
In larger cities like Quito, Otavalo, Baños, Riobamba, Cuenca and Guayaquil you can withdraw money with your bank card, if it has a cirrus or maestro sign. A credit card will only be accepted in the more expensive first-class restaurants and hotels. Traveler cheques can be exchanged in the bank, always adding a 5% commission.
What are the visa requirements?
Ecuador is a country with one of the most ‘open door’ policies in the world! There was a change in laws in October 2008, and now every country in the world does not require a pre Visa. There is an auto Visa as you present your passport at the airport for 90 days. For stays over 90 days a Student Visa for up to 1 year needs to be organised. We can provide the documentation for this. A Student Visa needs to be organised before the trip from the students home country.
Do I need vaccinations?
In general, hepatitis A and DTP and yellow fever are recommended but if you wish to stay longer than 3 months, more vaccinations are advisable. For more actualized information, also about malaria, please contact the Public Health Department in your home country.
