When

The trip starts in Montanita on the first Monday of the month and follows a rotation around the following destinations.

• 1st Monday of the Month : Montanita
• 2nd : Manta
• 3rd: Quito
• 4th: Cuenca

We do offer a transfer service from the airport in Guayaquil and transport to Montanita 24 hours a day 7 days a week. the price for this service is €80.
 

If your travel dates are different we can book you on to other weeks firts and we can also combine this trip with the Ecuador Adrenaline Overload!! or you can combine this trip with a few weeks extra in Montanita and join the Surfing and Spanish programme.

How to Arrive and Directions

Getting to Montañita:

There are TWO main ways:
1. Fly to Guayaquil, and catch a 2.5 hour luxury bus to Montanita
2. Fly to Quito  and then fly domestic to Guayaquil (30 min and $50), then catch a 2.5 hour luxury bus Flying to Guayaquil. Highly Recommended:

Guayaquil to Montañita Transport options

1. We offer a meet and greet and personalized transfer from the airport direct to your accommodation in Montañita (see below) This option is recommended.
2. From Guayaquil: This is the biggest city in Ecuador and many planes and buses arrive here. Go to the bus ‘terminal’ (Said as ‘ter-me-Nal’) by taxi which should cost about $3. There are buses direct to Montañita with the company CLP, with daily departures at (approximately!)

It takes about 2.5hours and the the price is about $6USD.

Important: the two bus times marked with a * can be seasonal departures.

At the terminal CLP is located at office number 84 (easy to find – they are all in numbered order). Here you buy a ticket for Montañita (price $5.50). CLP will tell you where the bus is departing – but normally its on the second (ie top) floor.What happens if I am arriving late into Guayaquil?

There are 3 options:
1. Any time (24 hours): we can offer a meet and greet, and transfer from airport direct to Montañita. Price is €80. Book this in advance at the time of booking.
2. After 2 pm – we can suggest a Hotel to book for the night. You can then catch a Taxi to the terminal the next morning (see above). We can suggest a Hotel for you.
3. Some people if arriving on the 1am flights, stay at the airport for 3 hours and then catch a taxi to the Bus Terminal (see above) not recommended.

Arriving to Quito?

From Quito: There are direct buses to Jipijapa, Portoviejo or Puerto Lopez. From each of these locations you need to change bus and get a different direct bus to Montañita. Puerto Lopez (only 40 minutes from Montañita) is normally
the easiest to do this. Total time will be about 8-10 hours depending on transfer times. We do not recommend this option.
OR Catch a plane to Guayaquil (about $50USD if you pre book) and then catch a bus from there (read above). The main domestic airlines are: Aerogal Aerolitoral Atesa Austro Aéreo Ícaro etc
Once you are in Montañita There are no street addresses (or in fact a postal service) in Montañita – so you will have to follow some directions and the map we will provide.
