Namibia Wildlife Conservation Experience
Join a group and help out at the biggest big cat conservation and wildlife conservation project in the world. This spectacular Namibian wildlife project can use all the help. Based in raw African natural setting you will help taking care for and conserving lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, caracals and (baby) baboons.
You can join us at any time throughout the year but we would prefer you to arrive on either a Monday or Tuesday to make the most of the project. Peak months are July, August and September.
We advise booking early - this means many months ahead, as this is one of the most popular Wildlife conservation projects in Africa. You can book with a €100 deposit with full payment taken 12 weeks before departure, giving you plenty of time to save for flights and spending money.
Spending Money
Not much is needed, as most expenses are included, bring about £40 per week to cover drinks snacks and souvenirs.
Which airport do I fly to?
Flights should be booked to arrive at Windhoek International Airport, Namibia. Please note that passengers through Johannesburg have been experiencing an ongoing problem re luggage. If your flight comes via Johannesburg your luggage may take a couple of days to arrive. Please put all valuables in your hand luggage along with a change of clothes. Please mark your cases clearly with the address.
How do I get to the project?
You will be met by a representative at Windhoek International Airport. The transfer time to the farm is approximately 45 minutes. On arrival you will be introduced to the Volunteer Coordinators and shown around the accommodation and facilities. An induction meeting will be held with you in your first couple of days. Activities are continuous on the farm and animals need tending to, so you will be hands-on on from your first day
